Luanda – Master's and doctoral students from the Catholic University of Angola will participate in scientific research projects with students from the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, as part of a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two higher education institutions.
The agreement also foresees the exchange of students between both institutions, according to information published on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP) to which ANGOP had access.
The decision was taken after a meeting held on Tuesday between an Angolan delegation led by minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João and the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of that Czech university.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of providing more support to the faculties of agricultural sciences at public universities in the country.
For Mário Caetano João, the Czech University was identified as a potential partner for Angola, due to the fact that it already operates in some countries in Africa and for registering with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The Secretary of State for Agriculture, João Cunha, considers the partnership as a window of opportunity that may reopen in the training of Angolan staff to strengthen the sector and cooperation between the two countries.
He also highlighted the advantage of knowledge and technology to be provided by the Czech Republic which is expected help Angola on increasing the arable lands available from five million to seven million hectares.
