Talatona - The professionals and institutions that stand out in the development of education in the country, during 2024, will be distinguished, at a gala, promoted by the Angola Education Awards project, on December 20th.
The initiative of the Association of Private Universities of Angola, the Dreamers.AO group and the company designated student Carneiro, aims to annually promote the contest in a way that is of national scope with the central mission of celebrating excellence in education in Angola, honoring individuals and institutions that stand out for their outstanding contributions to the advancement of knowledge and education in the country.
At a press conference held on Saturday in Luanda, regarding the event, one of the organizers of the AEA, Mateus Esteita, said that registrations that will begin on October 1st of this year will be free and must be made by teachers, students, institutions or their legal representatives.
The application must be made by filling out a form, containing all the information regarding the candidate and the work on the website: https://angolaeducationawards.com/.
According to Mateus Esteita, the award, in addition to recognizing people who actively participate in the improvement of national education, will be extended to higher education institutions, vocational training centers, teachers and students.
The competition is intended to be annual and national in scope, with the central mission of promoting and celebrating excellence in education in the country, according to the official.
The target audience of the Angola Education Awards, whose voting ends officially in December, are students, teachers, as well as groups of researchers and non-governmental organizations, student associations, start-ups/edtechs, training centers, universities and institutes.
The award, according to the organization, is intended to reinforce the vital role of education and learning, recognizing them as a fundamental foundation for achieving a high quality of life and for boosting a prosperous future for the Angolan Nation.
The competition has 14 categories, namely 'Scientist of the Year', 'Best Student Association', 'Best Vocational Training Centre', 'Best Edtech' (education start-up), 'Best Education Portal', 'Science and Technology', 'Best Social Education Project', 'Best Higher University Institute in the Area of Social Sciences' and 'Best Higher University Institute in Engineering'.
The jury of the 2nd edition of the Angola Education Awards is composed of Eugénio da Silva, Secretary of State for Higher Education, Carla Queiroz, director-general of the Higher Institute of Administration and Finance (ISAF), Chivanga Barros, professor at the Higher Polytechnic Institute of Technologies and Sciences (ISPTEC), Herinelto Casimiro, Angolan mathematician and scientist, and Professor Chocolate Brás.
