Luanda - The minister of Education, Luísa Grilo, Wednesday assessed the bilateral cooperation with France, during a meeting with the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Jean-Michel Blanquet.
During the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the 41st Session of the General Conference of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the two entities analysed the degree of compliance with the legal instruments signed and looked at new areas of cooperation.
The two interlocutors exchanged views on the response of the respective education systems to the Covid-19 pandemic, namely the investment made to guarantee a safe return to classes and the need to invest in ICT applied to education.
Minister Rosa Grilo thanked the opportunity and referred to the response of the education sector in Angola in relation to the pandemic, fundamentally the strong commitment of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, who made special funds available that ensured the safe return to classes throughout the country.
In the scope of the cooperation with France, the Minister highlighted the ongoing projects such as the "Liceu Eiffel", located in the municipalities of Caxito, Malanje, Cazengo and Ondjiva, with the support of Total Energies, the support to the development of the French language teaching and the support to the Agrarian Technical Institutes with the French Development Agency (AFD).
