LONDON - From 20 to 23 this month, an Angolan delegation will participate in the World Education Forum in London, United Kingdom, in an initiative of the British government.
According to a note from the Embassy's Press Services, sent to ANGOP, the forum brings together ministers of Education and Higher Education from several countries around the world, as well as members of international organizations.
The Secretaries of State for Higher Education, Eugénio Silva, and for Secondary Education, Gildo Matias José, will represent the Ministers of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Rosário Bragança, and Education, Luísa Grilo, at the event that will address the challenges of education for sustainable development.
The invitation to the Angolan delegation was made by the Member of Parliament and Minister of Education of the United Kingdom, Gillian Keegan.
At the forum, the Angolan delegation is expected to defend the new methods of education for sustainable development.
The opportunities of artificial intelligence in education is one of the topics highlighted at the World Forum, which also brings together technology giants such as Microsoft, Mc Kinsey and Google.
In addition to artificial intelligence, the organization chose as the focus of the 2024 edition the theme 'building human relationships and resilience and accelerating action in the face of climate change'.
The challenge for delegates, according to the organization's motto, is to find ways to prioritize policies aimed at implementing a strong, bolder and better education.
The organization calls on participants and governments around the world to recognize the challenges brought about by social media, new technologies, artificial intelligence and turn them into benefits and opportunities.
In London, the Secretary of State for Higher Education is accompanied by the National Directors of Higher Education, José Luís Alexandre, Director of the Office of the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Filipe Baião, and the Director of the Office of the Secretary of State for Higher Education, Mafalda Lourenço.
