Luanda – At least 143, 360 pupils of the general education in the 6th, 9th and 12th grades make from June 10 to 14 the second phase of the general national exams, the director-general of the National Institute for Evaluation and Development of Education (INADE) Disala André said Monday.
The Ministry of Education has been implementing national exams experimentally and gradually since the 2021/22 school year.
Speaking to the daily newspaper Jornal de Angola, Disala André said the exams have been distributed in the 18 provinces and that in this phase 6th grade pupils will take exams in subjects such as Portuguese Language, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, History and Geography.
The 9th grade on the other hand, will be assessed in Portuguese Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, History and Geography, the same subjects that will be used to assess the 12th grade.
According to the Ministry of Education's regulations, the tests will be held in Examination Centers and will last 90 minutes for 6th grade and 120 minutes for 9th and 12th graders.
Dissala André explained that with the decentralization of the national exams, Regional National Examination Centres (CRCEN) have been set up in Cuanza Sul, Huambo and Luanda for tests to be marked.
According to the school calendar, students go on vacation on June 25, and the 2024/25 school year opens on August 30.
Classes for the next 2024/25 school year are scheduled to start on September 2. EVC/PA/AMP
