Luanda – Angolan government made available for Angolan citizens one hundred scholarships to take undergraduate courses at public universities in Portugal, in the 2023/2024 academic year, under the special access regime, in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics study areas.
The information was provided this Wednesday by the secretary of State for Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Eugénio Silva, having clarified that the scholarships is under the coordination of the National Institute for Scholarship Management (INAGBE), under the Training Programme Areas of Study in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) for the countries of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP).
Biology, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry are the four courses to be taught, whose applications for access have been open since June 12th untill 24 of the same month and they should be submitted through the website www.inagbe.gov.ao.
Candidates must be Angolan citizens, with secondary education completed in Angola, with a general and specific average mark in the core subjects equal to or higher than 14 points, not be a beneficiary of another scholarship awarded by INAGBE and be 22 years old at the most.
Eugénio da Silva revealed that nationwide 983 people have so far presented their candidacies.
The official said that the plan was articulated with the Development Plan of the Sector and the Angola Development Plan 2020/2035, with a view to boosting training in the selected areas, taking into account that they were considered critical. ML/ART/MRA/jmc
