Zango – The Special Economic Zone (ZEE) licensed, this year, around 33 companies in the economy, with emphasis on the food and pharmaceutical sector, the president of the Board of Directors of this industrial park, Manuel Pedro confirmed on Thursday in Luanda.
Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of an afforestation campaign in the ZEE, the manager said that, with this licensing, the area now has 189 companies operating in sectors, with emphasis on industry, commerce and services.
According to Manuel Pedro, these companies will reinforce the country's economic diversification and promote employment, in addition to encouraging the attraction of more investments and promoting exports of national products.
He recalled that the ZEE occupies an area of seven thousand and 700 hectares, of which 500 are reserved for green areas, in view of the master plan that also foresees a commitment to protecting the environment.
He mentioned that, in addition to this plan guiding the way in which industries should be installed, it also focuses on the creation of green areas that must be aligned with good practices internationally.
Of the total number of companies operating in the ZEE, 42.86% are operational, while 27.51% are paralyzed and 29.63% are in the implementation phase. DP/QCB/DOJ
