Talatona - Angola and India business volume stood at around US$4.5 billion in 202, according to the Indian ambassador to Angola Pratibha Parkar.
Speaking to journalists on Monday in Luanda, ahead of her country’s 75th anniversary of independence, the diplomat said the two countries
restricted their trade to the oil field.
Pratibha Parkar said India is Angola's third largest trading partner, sharing around 10% of the African country's foreign trade.
She stated that currently, the governments of both countries are moving forward with a vision of commercial diversification, which has been driven by the oil partnership for a long time.
According to diplomat, Angola and India have consistently agreed that there is a lot of potential to go deeper” in several áreas. She mentioned the fields of agriculture, health, defence, telecommunications, infrastructure, digitalisation, food and others.
As example, the ambassador said that in the field of education, her government has annually made available more than 30 scholarships for the Angolan students to attend training in best universities of India.
On the other hand, she highlighted the good ties between the two countries, which she said share friendly relations date backing to pre-independence times, when India supported Angola in its struggle for freedom.
