Luanda - The European Union is providing Angola with 6.3 million euros (equivalent to 4.7 billion kwanzas), to improve institutional capacity for transport and logistics of the specific project on public and private partnerships (PPPs).
The joint European Union and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) programme for Angola, entitled "Train for Trade II," will run from 2017 to 2023, with the training of over 1,500 people from various sectors.
According to the document that Angop had access, as part of the training webinar on "Public Private Partnerships for Logistics Platforms in Angola," held on 15 and 16 of this month, the initiative aims to improve or speed up ongoing preparation of ppp projects in the country.
At the end of the series of online capacity building seminars, the EU and UNCTAD want Angolan staff to have a comprehensive knowledge of all stages of preparation of a PPP project, with an emphasis on the transport sector.
These international bodies also want the trainees to know about how the feasibility studies of a ppps project are prepared, including the scope, methodologies and tools, necessary data, business and financial models.
