Lubango - The Ugandan Ambassador to Angola, Julius Katembeka Chihandae, expressed on Friday in Lubango the interest of businessmen from his country to invest in the agricultural and tourism sectors in central Huila province.
The interest was expressed during a meeting with the Governor of Huila, Nuno Mahapi, who emphasized that his country was interested in investing in Angola and vice versa.
Julius Chihandae identified agriculture and tourism as priorities for the development of the economies of both countries and sees opportunities in these sectors in Angola.
The diplomat said that meetings with Angolan businessmen about investments in Uganda are planned in the near future and that it was with this intention that he came to Huíla.
Governor Nuno Mahapi thanked the Ambassador for his availability, as he believes that agriculture plays a fundamental role in the development of the economy and that the province has the conditions for these partnerships with the private sector.
Tourism, according to the governor, is another segment in which Huíla has "many" opportunities and the important thing is to discuss strategic partnerships, although the region is available.
During his stay in Huíla Province, the diplomat will visit some farms dedicated to agriculture, large and small animal breeding, captive fish and fruit processing.
The province of Huíla is located in the south of Angola. It covers an area of 79,23 square kilometers and has an estimated population of more than three million inhabitants spread over 23 municipalities, where agriculture and livestock are the key sectors for the development of the economy.
