Luanda – The Turkish Ambassador to Angola, Ufuki Ekici on Monday said work is being carried out for roughly 200 Turkish companies being mobilised to seek business opportunities at Lobito Corridor and the Luanda/Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE).
The Turkish diplomat made the statement at the end of an audience granted by the Angolan minister of Economy and Planning, Mário Caetano João, adding that the Türkiye government aims to boost economic and business cooperation with Angola.
According to the ambassador, the areas of interest of his country include agribusiness, textiles and energy sector.
The Turkish ambassador added that a visit is being planned for Turkish business people to identify the Lobito corridor's potential business opportunities.
The meeting which took place a few days before the Türkiye/Africa Business Forum, in which Angola will take part, also served as an opportunity for the Minister of Economy and planning to invite Turkish businesspeople to take part in the "Angola Economic Outlook", to be held on November 7 to learn more about Angola's macroeconomic outlook.
Mario Caetano called for Turkish businesspeople to take part in the”Expo Made in Angola”, to identify possible sought partnerships, such as "for example, suppliers of tropical fruit".
