Luanda - An anti-fraud office was recently created by TAAG- Angolan Airlines, with a view to preventing the manipulation of the ticket sales system, the chairman of the Executive Committee, Nelson Oliveira said on Sunday.

According to the manager, the measure aims to improve the ticket sales system, taking into account that some agencies in this segment resort to fraud and price speculation, contrary to the Executive's subsidy for the route.

Nelson Oliveira was speaking to the press after TAAG's inaugural flight from António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), which carried 191 passengers on the Luanda/Cabinda/Luanda route this morning.

He stressed that, in addition to this office, the Angolan carrier's system is designed to automatically identify the infringing entity and, from there, ban it from the TAAG system and the International Air Transport Association (IATA), the organization that governs the trade of airlines.

He said efforts were being made to increase the number of flight frequencies to Cabinda, from four to five.

Asked about the cancellation of flights, he said that in recent times there have been no such occurrences, but only occasional delays, in order to ensure operational safety.

'Cancellation is now a forbidden word at TAAG. We can delay the flight and, when this occurs, we contact the airport authorities,' he said.

TAAG started, Sunday, the gradual operation of domestic passenger flights from António Agostinho Neto International Airport (AIAAN), with two frequencies on the Luanda/Cabinda route and vice versa. Still for today, three flights with the same destination are planned.

From Luanda to the northernmost province of the country, 92 passengers departed, while from Cabinda to the country's capital, 99 returned, with the trips made by the Boeing 737-700, registration D2 TBJ.

The act culminated with the 'baptism' of the flight, attended by the Minister of Transport, Ricardo de Abreu, the governor of Cabinda, Suzana de Abreu, among other entities.

The process began the gradual transfer of commercial passenger operations from the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport to the new airport, located in the municipality of Icolo e Bengo. ACC/VC/DOJ
