Soyo - A tourist itinerary for the municipality of Soyo, northern Zaire province, will be launched next October by the Instituto Superior Universitário Nimi ya Lukeni (INSPUNYL), as a contribution to the development of tourism in the district.
According to the president of the institution, Lando Emanuel Pedro, who spoke to ANGOP today, the document is being finalised by the teaching and research department in hotel management and tourism, one of the courses taught at the institute.
He also explained that this tourist roadmap, the first of its kind in the municipality, will organise the tourist offer by identifying, gathering and describing the existing routes and attractions, with the aim of making Soyo a preferred destination for tourist excursions.
‘Through this information tool, we'll get more people to get to know Soyo and enjoy the tourist attractions available,’ he said.
The manager said that after its launch, at the time of the opening of the new academic year 2024/2025, the next step will be to present this tourist route at public events at provincial and national level.
He acknowledged the enormous human and financial effort involved in drawing up this tourism programme, which requires research and investigation.
Soyo's tourist attractions include Ponta do Padrão, the harbours of Mpinda and Rico, the islands along the course of the River Zaire, among others.
INSPUNYL in Soyo has been operating since October 2021 and offers four-year degree courses in hotel management and tourism, financial management and accounting, commercial management and marketing and agricultural engineering. PMV/JL/DAN/DOJ
