Luanda - The National Fuel Society (Sonangol) announced, last Monday, the approval of the revision of its anti-bribery and corruption policy, in an act that covered other instruments on corporate conduct and ethics, which establishes the fundamental principles and duties of its employees.
According to a note delivered to ANGOP, the revision of the mentioned policy is part of the general principle that guides the Board of Directors, with regard to the company's culture and the aim of make Sonangol a company with transparency rates at the level of the best international practices.
To guarantee immediate results of good governance of the Society, according to the purpose of the SONANGOl's regeneration project, in progress, the company's compliance area passes, now, at the directorate level.
The aforementioned Compliance Department assumes responsibilities such as ensuring, both at corporate and business units, the implementation of the compliance programme, which aims to strengthen the organizational culture, leverage business, protect and help to improve the company's reputation.
The mentioned initiatives are reinforced with the recent adhesion of the Sonangol group to the International Trade, an association that supports multinational companies and their commercial intermediaries in compliance and anti-bribery, in accordance with the laws of the United States and United Kingdom.
The laws in question are the "US Foreign corrupt Practices Act", the "UK Bribery Act" and other similar legislation, informs a note from Sonangol’s Communication, Brand and Liability Department.
