Dundo – The Angolan National Diamond Trading Company (SODIAM) announced on Saturday that at least 18 special diamond stones of various carats will be auctioned online as from the 11th of April, in Luanda.
According to a statement from SODIAM to which ANGOP had access, the auction will be organised by TRANS ATLANTIC GEM SALES and the closing ceremony will take place on the 19th of April.
The note explains that the auction will be aimed at clients registered in SODIAM's database and who have experience in the commercialisation of special stones.
Of the 18 stones weighing more than 10.80 carats, two are from the Lulo mine, two from Uari, one from Chitotolo, one from Somiluana and 12 from Kaixepa.
In December 2023, SODIAM raised 18.2 million dollars (USD 1 equals Kz 829,739) with the auction sale of 645.52 carats of rough diamonds.
The eighth auction, held in Luanda, featured special stones from the Lulo, Somiluana, Chitotolo and Uari Mining Companies.
SODIAM was founded in 1999 and is the state company responsible for commercialising Angola's diamond production.
The production, marketed through SODIAM, originates from 17 kimbelite and alluvial mines, and covers the entire quality spectrum in terms of size, model, purity and colour. HD/DAN/jmc
