Moçâmedes – The Migration and Foreigner Service (SME) in the province of Namíbe, collected from Jan to Sept of the current year, a total of AOA 62,031,902 (US$ 1 = AOA 841) for the State coffers.
These data were provided by the spokesperson for the Migration and Foreigner Services, Justino Júlio, without however specifying the amounts collected in the same period of the previous year.
He said that the amounts come from the collection of fines from foreign citizens of different nationalities, for violating the Law in accordance with current regulations, in accordance with articles 72, 76 and 80, of Presidential Decree no. 163/20, of June 8, on the Legal Regime of Foreign Citizens, in the Republic of Angola.
Justino Júlio also highlighted that in this same period, the SME in national migration acts, received 1,689 passport application processes, 23 of which were for service and 664 were ordinary, of which 889 were for 1st time issuance and 761 for reissuance, with 913 passports being delivered (11 of service and 902 ordinary).
During this period, the SME, as its spokesperson explained, received 247 cases, 47 of which were for card reassessment, of which 35 were for temporary residence and 12 for permanent residence. In the same period, 24 requests were made, of which 13 are for work, 11 for temporary stay and also 5 for resident cards and 169 visa extensions, of which 23 are for tourism, 104 for work and 43 for temporary stay, from citizens of different nationalities.
The migration officer also made it known that the SME in Namíbe controls 807 foreign citizens, 220 of whom are holders of temporary and permanent resident cards, 363 with a work visa, 120 with a temporary stay visa, 22 under humanitarian aid, and also 25 refugees and 57 asylum seekers, focusing on the municipalities of Moçâmedes and Tombwa.
Regarding the inter-provincial migration movement of nationals and foreigners by air and sea, the spokesperson highlighted that more than 12,000 foreigners of different nationalities were registered, preferably heading to the Yona national park.
