Luanda - Fortaleza Seguros issued premiums worth 5.6 billion kwanzas in 2020, with 119,000 registered and active policies and a solvency rate of 150%, despite the negative effects on the Covid-19 pandemic in that economic segment.
As a result, the insurer currently ranks tenth in the Top 10 of Angolan companies, with a market share of 2.5 percent, according to the 2020 report and accounts, presented on Wednesday in Luanda.
The company also had a technical profitability rate of 37 percent and a loss ratio of 19 percent. By 31 December 2020, it had 110,000 customers, at a time when the premium collection rate stood at around 88 percent.
Presenting the document during a press conference, the chairperson of the Executive Committee of Fortaleza Seguros, Paulo Bracons, made it known that the goal is to reach, by 2025, the TOP 5 of the sector, with the support of 62 collaborators, and to provide services of recognised quality.
To achieve this goal, it will also count on the new commercialization channel for products, agents and brokers, a novelty introduced already in the 2021 financial year, and on the results of the implementation of the Information Systems Strategic plan, launched in May of this same year.
According to Paulo Bracons, with these two new features, the company intends to make its presence effective throughout the entire national territory, continuing to be supported by certain channels usually used by the company and partners.
The bet on innovation, stressed the Chief Executive Officer, is to continue, as well as the materialisation of the strategic plan outlined for the 2020-2022 period, designated "F22".
