Luanda- Gross credit to the Angola’s non-financial sector amounted to AKz 5.72 trillion in July this year, an increase of AKz 883.71 billion (18.27%) compared to the month of June.
Of the gross credit granted by banks to the non-financial sector, 89.25% represents private sector indebtedness and 10.75% was contracted by the public sector.
According to the statistical report on the credit of the National Bank of Angola (BNA) sent to ANGOP Tuesday, the debt of the non-financial public sector totaled AKz 615.33 billion.
Private sector debt increased by 657.87 billion kwanzas (14.79%), rising from 4.45 trillion kwanzas in July 2022 to 5.11 trillion in July this year.
Of this amount, AKz 3.86 trillion corresponds to the indebtedness of private companies and AKz 1.25 trillion of individuals, with an increase of Kz 334.39 billion.
Credits under the Notices
In the period under review, gross credit granted under BNA Notices for the promotion of the real sector totaled AKz 944.51 billion, which corresponds to 71.18% of the total credit made available to the sector.
Compared to the same period last year, there is a higher value of AKz 324.35 billion (52.30%), an increase influenced by the agriculture sector, animal production, hunting, forestry and fishing, with emphasis on culture and sugarcane derivatives.
In the same period, housing loan reached AKz 250.20 billion, of which AKz 53.02 billion were granted under Notice 09/2022, of April 6, representing 21.19% of the total amount. NE/CF/NIC
