Luanda - The secretary of state for the Economy, Mário Caetano João, Friday encouraged public and private institutions to value national production with a view to developing the national economy.
The Government official, who was speaking to the press after a visit to the Palm Angola textile industry and the Rei Leão battery factory, located in Viana and Cacuaco, said that public institutions such as the ministries of the Interior, Defence, Health and Finance should opt to buy uniforms produced on the domestic market.
"The factories visited need a domestic market," he said.
He regretted the low level of production of 30 per cent registered in the said factories, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to him, the Rei Leão company not only manufactures battery but also recycles them.
He also pointed out that the batteries produced in this industry are also exported to the international market.
The visit of the Secretaries of State for Economic Affairs and Trade is part of the support to the productive sector.
