Saurimo – Saurimo municipality in eastern Lunda-Sul province is to have another 25 megawatts energy supply provided by the gas and diesel turbines to increase and expand the public energy network in the district.
According to the director of Technical Services and Infrastructures, Félix Manassa, the public energy supply network will have its capacity increased, having explained that the gas and diesel turbine has entered the testing phase and will last approximately 72 hours, with an injection of 10 megawatts.
In the second phase, the engine injection process will begin, in order to reach its maximum load and support the distribution of energy to the entire capital city (Saurimo).
He stressed that even with the operation of the gas turbine, the process to expand the medium and low voltage network will continue.
Saurimo city receives electricity supply from two thermal power stations, Nhama and Txicumina, with 20 and 19.5 megawatts respectively. QB/JW/AC/TED/AMP
