Luanda – Angola’s civil service salaries for the month of July have been paid in full since Friday, the Ministry of Finance confirmed.
A note from the National Directorate of the Treasury, quoted by the state owned daily Jornal de Angola (JA), in its online edition on Saturday, indicates that the processing of salaries has reached the execution level of 100%, although its conclusion has occurred 'outside the horizon defined for this purpose'.
Last Thursday, the director of the National Treasury Directorate, Marlon Lima, informed that the payment of the civil servants salaries was at approximately 60% and it is foreseen to be completed on Monday, however, it ended up happening a little earlier.
Speaking at the public television (TPA), the official explained at the time that wage arrears were due to the large discrepancy that is currently being recorded in the revenue received, which has nothing to do with attacks or computer failures. VC/MRA/DOJ
