Luanda - The Members of the Parliament (MPs) of the National Assembly approved, in detail, on Wednesday, the Opinion Report of the General State Account for the 2022 fiscal year.

The document had 30 votes in favor, nine against and no abstentions and will be submitted to the final global vote.

In his speech, the rapporteur MP, João Muhembo, from the 5th Committee on Economy and Finance, underlined that the 2022 General State Budget (OGE) was executed in a context of the slowdown in the growth of the global economy and the existing military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which led to an increase in the price of oil, placing it at levels higher than those observed in 2021.

As the parliamentarian said, the inflation rate recorded was 13.86 percent, below the rate defined in the 2022 State Budget, estimated at 18 percent, while crude oil production had a figure of 414.89 million barrels, corresponding to a daily average of 1.136 million barrels.

The average price of a barrel of crude oil, he said, was approximately US$100 per barrel, noting a surplus of almost US$41 compared to the reference price provided for in the 2022 State Budget, estimated at US$59 per barrel.

According to the MP, the growth rate of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was three percent, above the growth rate foreseen in the budget, estimated at 2.40 percent.

The parliamentarians' today’s agenda also includes the analysis and vote on the Draft Law on National Security. VC/DOJ
