Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of a visit to the Lobito Port Company, Bharat Joshi said he would work to encourage companies, mainly in the tourism and agriculture sectors, to come to Angola and bring technology for the development of the productive sector.

"This is the first time I've been to Benguela province and I've been able to see on the ground the advantages of the infrastructure and the companies involved in the Lobito corridor, the opportunities and the challenges," the ambassador said.

The diplomat said that there are several British companies in Angola employing many local workers and that his country intends to continue exploring where it can contribute to faster development.

As for the visit to the port of Lobito, the ambassador said it was a very important infrastructure, not just for Europe and the United States, but for the whole world.

"We are not only looking at the transportation of natural resources, but also agricultural products," said the Ambassador.

During his visit, Bharat Joshi had the opportunity to see, through the institutional video, the location of the Port of Lobito, located in a deep-water bay, its infrastructure, equipment and operational capacity.

The CEO of the Port of Lobito, Celso Rosas, on his turn expressed his satisfaction with the ambassador's visit, adding that the Lobito Corridor is a benchmark and countries like the United Kingdom are interested in being present with their companies to participate in this "great work" through investments.

"We believe that the ambassador will work to advise his government, especially companies, to come and invest in Angola.”Sometimes you have to see it to believe it," said Rosas.

For the CEO, the visit exceeded expectations and he said he believes there will be an increasingly better relationship between the two countries.

"The Port of Lobito is open to the world, so it wants to be more dynamic, more productive and more efficient," he stressed.

Celso Rosas cited the example of concession companies such as Lobito Atlântic Railway (LAR) and África Global Logistics (AGL), which have made investments, especially in the purchase of machinery and equipment, to increase their capacity in the production process. TC/CRB/AMP
