Luanda - The Angolan government intends to introduce new assets and state shares in the Privatisation Programme (PROPRIV), within the scope of the reform of the public business sector.
According to the Presidential Decree No. 78/23 of March 28, published in the Official Gazette, with the entry of more assets and state shares to transfer and the conclusion of processes under course, the Angolan government will extend the PROPRIV execution deadline for more three years (2023/2026).
In accordance with Presidential Decree No. 78/23, of March 28, published in the Official Gazette of the Republic to which ANGOP had access, with the entry of more assets and State shares to be transferred and the conclusion of ongoing processes, the government will extend the execution period of PROPRIV for more three years (2023/2026), which first of all was planned to be done during the period from 2012 to 2022.
The document updates the Privatisation Programme approved by the Presidential Decree No. 250/19, of August 5, for privatization of companies and assets, whose list includes 73 institutions to be privatized.
In the list attached to the document 21 national reference companies are included, with emphasis to SONANGOL-EP, Angolan Debt and Stock Exchange (BODIVA), ENSA Angola Insurance, mobile operator Unitel, all with 100% direct of the State participation, will be privatized through the Initial Public Offering (OPI), while TAAG,SA will be auctioned on the stock exchange (LB).
MSTelcom, also with 100% of the State participation, will be privatized through the Limited Tender by Prior Qualification (CLPQ), while Aldeia Nova factory will be sold at auction on the stock exchange and the Nova Cimangola cement plant will be sold at public tender.
In the list of participations and branches of the state-owned oil company Sonangol, 15 companies are listed for privatization, including Petromar, Societé Ivoirense de Raffinage, Sonacergy-Services and Oil Construction, OPS-Services for Oil Production, Sonasing Xikoma, Mondo and Saxi Batuque, two children´s centers (1 de Junho and Futuro do Amanhã), among others.
The list also includes 17 industrial units located in the Luanda/Bengo Special Economic Zone, which will be sold through a public tender.
The segment of assets and companies to be privatized also includes Secil Marítima SA, Unicargas, Edipesca branch in Luanda and Namibe provinces, the Catete silo complex, TVZimbo tv station, Medianova Group, Mundial Seguros insurance company (disposal of 70% of the assets), the collective and urban transport company of Luanda-TCUL, among others.
