Luanda - Privatisation Programme (PROPRIV) has raised 980 billion kwanzas as result of the sale of 73 assets in the first phase.
The announcement was made by programme's deputy coordinator Ottoniel Dos Santos on Tuesday, adding that of this amount, 605 billion kwanzas comes from past-due installments.
Also Secretary of State for Treasury, Ottoniel Dos Santos, who was speaking at the end of the Inter-Ministerial Meeting on the Privatisation Programme, announced plans for privatisation of two assets in Luanda/Bengo Special Economic Zone (ZEE).
He mentioned Indutubo and Mecametal, while in Cabinda province manufacturing units such as a milling plant and a cold storage complex will be privatised.
Also on the privatisation agenda are the Rede Poupa lá supermarkets, a total of nine (09) assets. Benguela, Lunda Sul and Zaire with one and three in Cabinda and Luanda.
"The process of privatising these companies will begin, via public tender, in the form of the sale of assets," he said.
The Privatisation Programme (PROPRIV) began in mid-2019 and aims to strengthen Angola's private sector, making it more efficient and competitive.
It appears to be one of the guidelines for restructuring and resizing the Public Business Sector (SEP).
PROPRIV is part of the Public Finance Reform aimed to promoting macroeconomic stability, increasing the productivity of the national economy and achieving a more equitable distribution of national income.
Among the various assets privatised under this programme stress goes to BIOCOM, BAI, BCI and Caixa Angola.
