Luanda - The agricultural and livestock production of Angolan families and companies operating in the country will be one of the main focuses of the 39th edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA/2024), scheduled for 23 to 28 of this month, in the Special Economic Zone (ZEE).

The fact was announced on Wednesday, in Luanda, by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, during the launch of the country's largest business exchange.

According to the official, the fair, co-organized with the company Eventos Arena, constitutes a national and international economic showcase, a fact that motivates the Government to invite the massive participation of all economic agents, who will have the opportunity to do business and establish business partnerships.

He added that, in this edition, stallholders and visitors “will have a great surprise within the program prepared for an event of this size and with very suggestive themes”.

On the occasion, the Secretary of State for Industry and Commerce, Augusta Fortes, said that the program has two major moments: the Angola/Portugal Forum, which will be attended by the Portuguese Prime Minister, as well as the Macau Forum and the countries of Portuguese language, where two agreements will be signed, one with the Institute for Industrial Development and Innovation (IDIA) and the other between the Industrial Association of Angola (AIA) and the Business Confederation of Portugal.

In addition, he also said that FILDA will serve to discuss topics related to the licensing of commercial and industrial activity, as well as analyze the role of the National Institute for Support to Small and Medium Enterprises (INAPEM) and initiatives to encourage economy and tourism.

For his part, the chairperson of the Board of Directors of Eventos Arena, Bruno Albernaz, said that, so far, more than 10 countries have confirmed their presence at the event, with the expectation of surpassing the number of companies from the previous edition, amounting to 1,300 companies.

As for access, he guaranteed that public transport operators will have special lines from the city center and other points to the exhibition hall, in the ZEE, during the six days of the event.

The Luanda International Fair is the biggest showcase for national promotion for doing business and promoting jobs.

The international character of FILDA also has a fingerprint on promoting economic diversification. Taking place in the ZEE constitutes a direct or indirect invitation to invest in Angola. DP/QCB/DOJ
