Luanda – Daily oil production rose from 1.1 million to 1.2 million barrels a day (BPD), the CEO of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) has said.
Paulino Jerónimo, who did not reveal the reasons for the slight increase in the output, predicted a daily production of 1.147 million of the oil barrels this year.
The figure is even smaller comparing to the latest days, he told a meeting with journalists promoted by the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, ahead of the Mining Worker Week.
The minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, who coordinated the talk, said if it were not the measures applied in the oil sector, the 2022 production would stand at 570,000 barrels per day.
The minister also spoke of the exploration strategy 2020-2025, as having been approved, adding that as a result of the execution of this strategic over 20 oil blocks and 30 others will be tendered in the coming years.
However, the sector is seeking to keep the average levels of the production reached and continues working on the plans of risk mitigation or committed to searching solutions that reduce the factors or elements that threaten the estimated production.
February this year, as example, the production of the oil in Angola was of 32.327 million barrels, corresponding to a daily average of 1.154 million barrels of oil (BPD) against the 1.170 million (BPD) predicted.
January this year, Angola recorded an oil production of 36.865 million barrels, corresponding to a daily average of 1.189 million barrels of oil (BPD).
