Luanda – The oil production in the country reached in May this year a total volume of 36,932 million barrels (MMBLS), an increase in the order of 4% compared to previous month.
The daily monthly average of May was of 1,191 million barrels daily MBPD, according to the report of PetroAngola, national oil, gas and renewable energy consultant.
In April this year, the production reached a volume of 35,468 MMBBLS corresponding to a daily average of 1,182 (MBPD), according to the report delivered to ANGOP.
From the production volume, Block 17 had an average of 395,362 million barrels daily (KBPD) being in the position as the greater producer in the period under analysis, having registered an increase of 3% compared to the previous month in which it was recorded an average production of 383,727 KBPD.
After the Block 17, follows the Block 0 with an average production of 159,044 KBPD an increase of 0,1% and in the third position is Block 2 with a daily production of 156,366 KBPD an increase of 3,7% compared to what was produced in April of 150,548 KBPD.
Throughout the month of May, Angolan crude was traded at a premium in relation to Brent, with the combination of the prices of the most valued crude on the international markets reaching an average value of USD 111.82/BBL, with USD 0.86/BBL (barrel of crude) being traded above Brent.
In May, the price of a barrel of oil was on the rise in the international markets. The Brent “benchmark” for Angolan crude was traded at an average price of USD 110.96/BBL, an increase of USD 5.13/BBL compared to the average for April, when an average price of USD 105.83/BBL was recorded.
Cabinda crude was the best valued Angolan crude, with the highest price of USD 123.37/BBL and a monthly average of USD 112.26/BBL.
The Sunflower came in second place, with the highest price of USD 120, 22/BBL and a monthly average of USD 111, 91/BBL. Dahlia was the third best value, with a monthly average of USD 111.68/BBL and the highest price of USD 119, 77/BBL.
The Nemba vine reached the highest price of USD 121.97/BBL and a monthly average of $111.42/BBL.
