Luanda - The production of associated gas stood at 87.879 million cubic feet (MMSCFD), in the month of May, making an average of 2.834 MMSCFD.
With the above results, production increased by four percent compared to April, a period in which 84,554 MMSCFD were produced, according to the report published by PetroAngola, an Angolan consultancy and provider of information on oil and gas.
Of the total volume of gas produced, 40% was injected, seven percent made available for energy generation in oil facilities, 21% exported to the ALNG factory - Angola Liquefied Natural Gas.
Four percent was for flaring and the remaining 28% used in gas lift operations (a petroleum method, widely used), according to the report that ANGOP had access to.
From February to April of this year, associated gas production reached 250.557 million cubic feet (MMSCFD).
Natural gas prices reached values throughout the first quarter of this year, with an increase of 69%, justified by the sanctions imposed on Russian exports.
In another Report on the Economic Conjuncture, published this June by BAI, it is reported that, in the first quarter of this year, the price of gas rose by USD 2.62 per million British term unit (MMBtu), compared to the average for first three months of 2021 in which it reached 4.59 dollars per MMBtu.
In 2021, gas exports reached USD 3.08 billion, with the sale of 4.48 million metric tons (MT) at an average annual price of USD 688,437/MT, which positively influenced revenue collection.
