Lubango - The provinces of Bengo, Bié and Cuanza Sul won Friday in Huíla Province the first edition of the Field Gala, an event that rewards the organization of events of this category, in a promotion of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
The awards were given to the provincial directorates that organized the “Field Gala”; the province of Bengo won in the category Rural Performance, Bié province won Innovation and Creativity and Cuanza Sul won Rural Merit, the latter being considered the most outstanding.
The beneficiary provinces thanked the recognition and committed themselves to continuing to work for the promotion of national production, its valorization and disposal of products.
Speaking at the event, the minister of Industry and Trade, Victor Fernandes, said that the award, which is held annually, aims to recognize the performance of all agents who are working not only to produce, but also to market the products of the field, allowing citizens to have healthy food on the tables and at competitive prices.
“If we look at the productive and income generating activity with long-term objectives, we will be able to transform Angola”, he emphasized.
He declared that the Field Gala represents a boost for the productive and trade agents to continue working because the Angolan soil, as well as the sea, have everything and should be taken advantage of.
Huíla province stood out in second place in the Innovation and Creativity Award category.
In the category of Rural Performance, the ministry recognizes the power of creativity applied to real challenges that shape the future of rural trade, the consistency in the massive holding of the Field Products Fair within the municipalities of the province.
The Innovation and Creativity award recognizes provinces that make innovation a legacy, within rural trade. Recognizing cooperatives, agricultural and marketing associations, entrepreneurial and family farmers that contribute to innovation (production of packaging for field products, food processing machines, and others).
As for the Rural Merit, it values the dedication, assiduity, and the effort in the work and performance that the Provincial Government and the Office of Integrated Economic Development had in the promotion of national products, in favour of cooperatives, agricultural and commercialization associations, entrepreneurial and family farmers.
