Luanda - The Angola Head of State, João Lourenço, has authorized the opening of the public tender for the privatization of the 39 hotels from the IU, IKA and BINA chains, built across the country's 18 provinces.

According to Presidential Order No. 19/24 of January 11, to which ANGOP had access, these hotel units are part of the hotel network of the then insurance company AAA and their privatization is part of the Privatization Program (PROPRIV), in the period from 2023 to 2026.

The President of the Republic has delegated competences to the minister of Finance, Vera Dalves, who in turn can also sub-delegate powers in the practice of decision-making acts, as well as for the verification of all actions for the privatization of these hotels.

The head of the Finance Ministry was also delegated the constitution of the Negotiation Committee, approval of the procedural parts, award of proposals, including the conclusion and signing of contracts.

According to the presidential order, the Negotiation Committee must be made up of representatives from the ministerial departments, responsible for the activity sectors, in accordance with the Basic Law on Privatization.

Likewise, the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, authorized in Presidential Order no. 18/24 of 11 January the construction of public works for the recovery and conservation of all historical cultural areas in Mbanza Congo, province of Zaire, worth of 100 billion kwanzas, through the financing line structured by Banco Angolano de Investimentos (BAI).

Another Presidential Order No. 17/24, of January 11, deals with the approval of financing for the construction and equipping of the Luanda Ophthalmological Institute, in the amount of €63.909.800, representing 85% of all work expenses.

This financing is the result of the approval of the conclusion of the export credit financing agreement between the Republic of Angola, represented by the Ministry of Finance and the financial institution Soviété Générale, of French origin. CLAU/AC/CF/jmc
