Luanda - Portuguese government has extended the funding line for Angola, from 1.5 billion euros to 2 billion euros, an increase of 500 million euros.
Of the 500 million euros, 150 million will be spent on facelift of the village of Muxima, where the minister of Finance of Portugal, Fernando Medina, visited on Tuesday.
Muxima, which is located in municipality of Quiçama, Luanda province, represents, in its two financing components, a total investment of over 300 million euros, equivalent to just over 160 billion kwanzas.
The Angolan minister of Finance, Vera Daves de Sousa, who was speaking on the sidelines of a visit to the project on Tuesday, said that there is a component of 150 million euros, funded by the Portuguese Government.
Vera Daves said that the funding will covers the construction of houses and other social equipment.
The equipment include more than 500 residences under construction to re-house the current residents as well as the construction of the future Muxima village, which is expected to become a center of attraction of domestic and foreign private investment.
The two protocols were signed by Vera Daves (Angola) and Fernando Medina (Portugal) in the presence of representatives of the two countries.NE/PPA.
