Port of Namibe assumes leadership of Angola's Ports Association

Luanda - The Board of Directors of Port Namibe on Monday assumed the rotating presidency of the Association of Ports of Angola (APANG), for three years, succeeding the management of the Port of Luanda.

According to a press release sent to ANGOP on Tuesday, the event took place at the end of the 12th Congress of the Portuguese Language Ports Association (APLOP), held in Luanda, last week.

At the ceremony, the president of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the Port of Luanda (outgoing member of the association), Alberto Bengue passed the “folders” to his Namibe counterpart, Manuel Nazareth Neto, who will lead the Angolan ports association until 2026.

The event was attended by the PCA of the National Maritime Agency (AMN), Anisabel Costa.

he Association of Ports of Angola (APANG), was created in 2013 within the framework of the need of bringing together the country's ports, port terminals and port community, in order to achieve objectives such as the assurance, defense and promotion of the interests of members and contribute to the development and modernization of the port system of Angola.
