Luanda - The economically active population in the country, over 18 years old, increased by 2.9% in the first quarter of 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, according to the National Statistics Institute (INE).
In addition, in the period under review, the employed population increased by 1.5%, as indicated by the Quick Information Sheet (FIR) of the Survey on Employment in Angola (IEA) of INE.
With these data, the population with informal employment decreased by 0.2 percentage points.
The IEA, which is aimed at households residing in Angola, has a quarterly periodicity and annual compilation, and in the collection process excludes households residing in collective housing, such as hotels, hospitals, military barracks, student residences and the homeless. HM/QCB/DOJ
