Dala – Circulation in the towns of Nhambaca and Nconde, Cazage commune, 73 kilometers from the municipality of Dala (Lunda-Sul), was restored today, Saturday, with the opening of two metal bridges over the Thumba and Txisseque rivers.
Four meters wide each, 15 and 18 meters long, the two structures are capable of supporting between 30 and 40 tons. The infrastructure is expected to last 20 years.
The replacement works were carried out by the Provincial Infrastructure Office, through the Road Maintenance Brigade, in collaboration with the National Roads Institute of Angola (INEA).
During the inauguration, the vice-governor of Lunda-Sul for Technical Services and Infrastructures, Cláudio Pemessa, said that it was another intervention by the Executive, within the scope of its social and institutional responsibilities, with a view to ensuring normal circulation of people, resources and various goods.
These works are the result of a plan to replace wooden bridges with metal ones, projects that will be carried out in other areas, as soon as there is financial availability.
For his part, the chief of Nhambaca, Jaíme Txifunga, was satisfied with the placement of the bridge, as previously they had difficulty crossing the river with products and children on their laps.
For the communal administrator of Cazage, Augusto Carvalho, the inauguration of the bridges brought a breath of fresh air, as it will allow the area to grow rapidly and consequently attract investors.
The two locations Nhambaca and Nconda have an estimated population of more than five thousand inhabitants, most of whom are dedicated to subsistence agriculture and hunting. EM/JW/PA/DOJ
