Angolan police stop attempt to export 6,250 liters of fuel to DRC

Mbanza Kongo - Six thousand and 250 liters of fuel for smuggling in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were seized Thursday by Angola’s Customs Fiscal Police in the municipality of Soyo, Zaire province.

In a note distributed today to the press, the Institutional Communication and Press Office of the local Command of the National Police, informs that the product was seized following a patrol in the Pululu-Pululu river channel.

The product, the report adds, was found on the edge of the canal, packed in 25 containers of 250 liters each, waiting for a vessel to be shipped to neighboring DRC.

He says that the owners fled when they noticed the patrol of the Customs Tax Police.

The fuel was delivered to the Soyo Customs Delegation of the 1st Tax Region, for legal proceedings. JL/DOJ
