Soyo - Angolan oil company Etu Energy will install solar panels this month to support its parks in Pângalas, Kinguila and Kafuquena, in the municipality of Soyo, Zaire province.
The information was provided by the chairman of the company's Board of Directors (PCA), Edson Santos, during a visit with journalists to the Pângalas field on Friday.
He specified that the new facility will produce one megawatt for the three fields.
'The idea is to start working with energy as well, and not just with oil, with priority for solar', he assured.
The municipality of Soyo, with 258,599 inhabitants, currently has consumption of about eight megawatts.
New gas stations
Other projects of the company include its listing on the Stock Exchange, increasing its fuel stations by up to 40 over the next four years, and building a lubricant factory.
Santos explained that, currently, Etu Energy has only three stations across the country, two in Luanda and one in Caxito (Bengo), with a new one under construction in the country's capital, and another in Soyo.
The sales of the three current stations generated one million US dollars in 2023, he said.
On the other hand, he added, Etu Energy launched its first lubricant brand this year, in partnership with Petrona, from Malaysia.
He said that Etu Energy has gradually increased its production, with the acquisition of some percentages, increasing its production with Total to 12,000 barrels per day and, with Galp, to 20,000.MI/IZ/DOJ
