Luanda - The National Development Plan (PDN 2018-2022) recorded an average level of execution of 61.13% in third quarter this year, said Thursday in Luanda the Secretary of State for Planning, Milton Reis.

Speaking at the Economy and Planning Ministry’s briefing, he stressed that the PDN 2018-2022 Execution Report for the Third Quarter reflects the monitoring and evaluation of the results of the implementation of the actions that made possible the 70 action programmes of the Plan.

The approved document is of a cumulative nature, providing information for the period 2018 to 2021 and from January to September 2021.

It also contains data and information from Balance Reports of the Ministerial Departments, Provincial Governments, the National Bank of Angola, as well as the National Institute of Statistics of 2020.

Milton Reis said that the PDN report was approved at the 11th Ordinary Session of the Economic Commission of the Cabinet Council in November, chaired by the head of state.

On the other hand, he explained that in relation to the monitoring of the Projects and Programmes of the PDN 2018-2022, under the Local Development and Combat Poverty Programme (PIDLCP), the MEP was part of the group of Secretaries of State that coordinate the groups of monitoring the implementation of projects under the PIDLCP.

A working visit was carried out this week to the municipality of Icolo e Bengo, Luanda, to assess the  implementation of the projects proposed by the municipality and the respective degree of compliance based on the resources made available from January to date.

Regarding the evaluation of the implementation of the projects of the Local Development and Fight against Poverty Programme, he added,“we see in the field the situation of the three (3) projects, with emphasis on Lalama - Construction of one (1) water hole, with a degree of physical execution of 70%.

He recalled that the PIDLCP Local Development and Poverty Combat Programme, approved by Presidential Decree 140/18 of 6 June, in line with PDN 2018-2022, had its beginning in August 2018, electing the municipality as the main territorial unit, aimed to contribute to the improvement and reduction of the extreme poverty rate of families and thus ensure the Human Development and well-being of families.

As for the SADC Macroeconomic Subcommittee, the official noted that the Ministry of Economy and Planning participated in a meeting on the 25th and 26th of November this year, in virtual format, which was attended by the highest level of SADC staff.

The SADC Macroeconomic Subcommittee meeting addressed issues related to the implementation of actions arising from the Meetings of the Committee of Ministers of Finance and Investment and the Peer Review Panel.
