Luanda – Customs Duty Draft Bill foresees a 10% reduction on vehicles and electronic equipment import tax, the director of customs services of the General Tax Administration (AGT), Jerónimo Cambalangaja has said.
Cambalangaja announced so on the sidelines of the seminar on "Customs Tariff of the harmonised system (version 2022),"adding that the import tariffs of a "Lexus" car, for example had been fixed at 30% of import duties.
He added in the new proposal it has been reduced to 20%, while the other cars, which have a rate of 25% were decreased by 15%.
Cambalangaja said the new tariff brings some incentive to the national productive sector to make the country more dependent on itself.
"The tariff comes as one of the Executive's tools to increase national production and society. We have to encourage, but also ensure that the country does not consume everything that is harmful to society," he stressed.
He explained that the AGT is collecting contributions until the end of March for further approval by the Cabinet Council.
