Luanda - Users of the Multicaixa Express (MCX) mobile application in Angola can now make their payments at Automatic Payment Terminals (APT), through the 'Quick Response (QR)' code.’
It is the first certified mobile payment solution in Angola, and for its use the merchant must update its APT, in an initiative of the technology company Innovation Makers.
To make a payment in this way, the APT displays one of the QR code on the screen that is read by the mobile phone camera, through the Multicaixa Express application, according to a press release sent on Friday to ANGOP.
According to the document, this solution is a practical, fast and secure way to carry out transactions at payment terminals with a mobile phone.
Quoted in a note, the executive director of Innovation Makers, Vitor Rodrigues, considered the feature as an innovative solution in the market that will allow the population to make a greater number of mobile payments.
The executive director of EMIS, Eduardo Bettencourt, points to the QR code of the Multicaixa network as a clear sign of the commitment to the modernization of the Angolan payment system, which will benefit the entire market.
In addition to this service, Innovation Makers launched a 100% digital bank branch capable of carrying out all operations requested by customers virtually, using artificial intelligence, during the 39th edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA 2024), which took place from 23 to 28 July, in the Special Economic Zone.
It is also a solution presented for the first time in Angola, being a new concept of digital bank branch designed using innovative self-service machines.
The machine works with facial recognition, allowing all traditional banking operations to be carried out autonomously by the end user.
