Luanda – The State Budget (OGE2025) Draft for the comig financial year foresees a growth of the national economy of 4%, the Minister of State for Economic Co-ordination, José de Lima Massano, has said.
This growth, he explained, will continue to be pursued in the non-oil sector, which is expected to grow five per cent.
According to the State Minister, who was speaking after the formal handover of the OGE2025 Draft to the National Assembly (parliament), this budget proposal is, in general terms, optimistic, despite the uncertainty context in which it was elaborated.
In regard to economic boost oriented exercises, the government official said that the document makes important references, such as the proposal to reduce the VAT rate on equipment, namely from the current 14% to 5%.
There’s also good news for family agriculture, where an adjustment is to occur. Small dimension operations with a fiscal weight of 25% will be brought down to 10%, he announced.
“We’ll continue to support the entrepreneurial sector, in a general manner, with the recapitalization of the BDA (development bank) and resources that we want for the Deposits Guarantee Fund and the Angola Risk Capital Fund”, explained the State Minister.
On the other had, he continued, the Excutive is making an additional effort to speed up demining in the entire national territory, with the aim of making the country landmines free by the year 2027.
The 2025 State Budget (OGE) foresees Revenues and Expenses of about 34.6 billion kwanzas, an amount that is higher than the current budget of Kz 24.7 billion.
In the 2025 Budget, the Executive show commitment to valorizing more and more the salary of workers, chiefly in the public service, reason why an adjustment of 25 per cent is on the agenda. VC/jmc
