Luanda - The General State Budget (OGE) for 2025 pursues the protection of human beings, their empowerment, poverty reduction and increasing levels of social inclusion, according to the National Development Plan (PND).
The statement was made on Thursday in Luanda by the Minister of State for Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, to the press after the formal delivery, to the National Assembly, of the 2025 State Budget proposal, which includes about 34.6 billion kwanzas for the next economic year.
Likewise, he referred to the diversification of the national economy, with particular emphasis on food security, as well as the materialization of the major projects that the Government has in its portfolio in terms of infrastructure, seeking, above all, to complete works already started.
According to the Minister of State, in this budget, which seeks to contribute to price stability in the economy and, more transversally, to protect incomes, the Executive maintains the commitment to increase the salaries of workers, particularly in the civil service, with an adjustment of the payroll, in general, by about 25 percent.
He stressed that the 2025 State Budget proposal is designed in a scenario of great uncertainty that is happening a little in world economies, regardless of their size.
In this sense, José de Lima Massano considered the challenges and relevant geopolitical tensions that are occurring and that, therefore, also impact the country's development options.
The State Budget is the programmatic instrument that sets the amount of revenue to be collected and defines the limits of expenditure to be carried out during the financial year, determines the sources of financing and establishes the criteria for its management, with a view to satisfying collective needs and ensuring the sustainability of the country's public finances.
The Framework Law of the General State Budget establishes that the proposal for the State Budget must be submitted to the National Assembly by October 31 of each year. VC/DOJ
