Luanda - The draft State Budget for 2024 (OGE/2024) plans to allocate 442.6 billion kwanzas (1.79%) for Road Infrastructure Construction, Rehabilitation, Conservation and Maintenance Programme, which represents a reduction of 0.84% compared to 2023.
The 2023 State Budget still in implementation estimated a value of 529.8 billion kwanzas for the construction sector, representing 2.63% of the total amount in the current budget.
In 2024 it is estimated the allocation of 21 .3 billion kwanzas for road maintenance and upkeep services, while 23.2 Billion kwanzas are expected to be channeled for the construction of new national roads.
It includes the construction of municipal roads, valued at over 1 billion kwanzas, asphalting of urban roads (Kz 119.1 billion), earthworks (16.5 billion), rehabilitation of national roads (193.9 billion), intervention on municipal roads (42.5 billion) and the construction of bridges (24.8 billion).
As for the housing sector the State Budget estimates allocating an amount of 72.9 billion kwanzas, of which more than 50.3 billion will be for the construction of social housing projects, 26.4 million for the sale of real estate and 145.5 million for the promotion of self-construction.
The State Budget also includes the Programme for the Construction, Rehabilitation, Conservation and Maintenance of Public Buildings and Social Facilities, with an estimated budget of more than 98.7 billion kwanzas.
Of this amount, 85.4 billion will be for the construction and rehabilitation of public buildings, 6.7 billion for the maintenance and upkeep of social facilities and public buildings, 5.2 billion for the construction and rehabilitation of social facilities and 1.2 billion for intervention in public buildings.
