Caxito - Novagrolider company won the 9th edition of the Banana Fair held on 23-25 June at Panguila market in northern Bengo province.
With a turnover of over AKz 100 million, the three-day event was held under the motto, "Agriculture in Bengo creating the foundations for diversification of the economy".
TuriAgro and Vida Fresh ranked second and third respectively.
Speaking to the press, the manager of Novagrolider, Hélder Cardeta, attributed the success of his company to the commitment demonstrated by the entire team.
The Dembos locality, which hosted the event, won the prizes of best municipality and small producers, while Ferpinta company won the category for machinery and work equipment.
The municipal administrator of Dembos, Joaquim Cangulo, praised the work of cooperatives and farmers' associations, which demonstrated at the event the work that has been done in the municipality.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Bengo provincial governor Maria Antónia Nelumba praised the event and said the local government will continue to support producers to improve and increase the levels of agricultural production in the region.
The event, with the participation of 150 exhibitors, was attended by more than 3,000 daily visitors.
The Banana Fair, which began in 2012, is Bengo's largest stock exchange and aims to promote and publicise the province's agricultural potential.
