Moçâmedes - The structuring projects of the Port of Namibe are in the global spotlight at the 39th edition of the Luanda International Fair (FILDA 2024), which entered its fifth and penultimate day on Saturday.
According to the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Port of Namibe, Nazareth Neto, the projects presented have attracted the attention of investors from different parts of the world.
The modernisation and expansion of the Multipurpose terminal pier and the rehabilitation of the Saco Mar Mineral pier, aiming to increase loading and unloading capacity, as well as the logistical facilitation of maritime transport are among the projects presented, he said.
Manuel Nazareth Neto indicated that the participation of the Port of Namibe in FILDA 2024 aims not only to attract more customers, but also to make the country and the world aware of the ongoing projects, as well as the future corridor in the South of Angola, that is, the Namibe corridor, which is the motto chosen for this edition of the Fair.
He explained that the exhibition also includes the Integrated Development Project of the Bay of Moçâmedes, which is in a physical execution phase of 40% and which includes the construction of a new pier bridge at the Saco Mar Mineral Terminal of 520 meters with a draft of 20 meters. FA/IZ/DOJ
