Moçâmedes - The plague of locusts from Cunene province has already reached Namibe province, specifically in the municipalities of Moçâmedes, Tômbwa and Virei.
The information was provided Thursday by the deputy governor for the Economic and Social Policy area, Maiza Tavares, at a press conference.
She said that combat actions were already underway to reduce its intensity and prevent crops from being widely affected.
She explained that the province already has some means of combating the disease, such as fumigation vehicles, insecticides, sprayers, masks and protective suits, among others.
According to the deputy governor, the municipal administrations are conducting a survey of the areas affected by the plague and those that may be affected.
