Moçâmedes - Forty-eight exhibitors participate in the first edition of the fair on culture, tourism and entrepreneurship, called 'Expotur', opened Friday in the province of Namibe.

Taking place over four days, the event brings together public and private agents and is part of the celebrations of the 175th anniversary of the city of Moçâmedes, to be celebrated on August 4th.

Speaking at the opening, the governor of Namibe, Archer Mangueira, appealed to exhibitors to make a greater contribution to the growth of tourism in the province, particularly in the municipality of Moçâmedes, and the potential of the region should be taken advantage of.

He stressed the importance of activities of this kind and expressed the desire to see agents from other sectors joining the exhibition, such as sports and hospitality.

'This is a good initiative, but we can still do more and demonstrate to people what we have in terms of tourism,' he said.

The exhibition welcomes various companies and forms of service provision in different branches of activity, in addition to tourism and culture, with emphasis on EDEL, which works to raise awareness and disseminate non-face-to-face payment services, that is, via mobile phones and ATMs. LG/FA/VC/DOJ
