Moçamedes – A total of 12 companies established in the province of Namibe joined, in 2023, the Made in Angola Seal, created by the Ministry of Economy and Planning, to promote national production and consumption of national products.
Speaking to ANGOP, the head of INAPEM's provincial services department, Adilson Hach, announced that of the 26 registered products, 15 have already received the respective seal. This set of products includes fish derivatives (canned food) and ornamental rocks.
According to the source, the awareness raising activities promoted awareness about the Made in Angola Seal, which allows companies to expand and provides information about the manufacture of a given product and its validity period.
On the other hand, the head of department said that the number of companies certified, in 2023, by the National Institute of Small and Medium Enterprises, (INAPEM), in the province of Namibe, doubled from 60, in 2022, to 123.
He highlighted that the majority of certified companies, in the period in question, are from the fishing sector and general commerce.
He added that in total, the province has 456 certified companies, of which 238 entities were trained in various subjects, such as cooperative management, fiscal and financial literacy, business administration, among other topics.
As part of the economic activity formalization program, Adilson Hach said that it was possible to legalize 77 cooperatives and 16 companies during 2023.
Regarding access to financing lines, the person responsible clarified that INAPEM was also dedicated to configuring credit and remittance processes to financial institutions, having a record of 31 processes instructed, 31 processes sent, 23 processes were accepted and nine disbursements.
In the last census, he recalled, the province recorded 1,627 companies, of which five percent are in the productive sector. VR/FA/QCB/DOJ
