Luanda - The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technology and Social Communication (MINTTICS), Mário Oliveira, visited Huawei's equipment factories in China, with a view to strengthening partnerships, promoting inclusive connectivity in communications and improving the services of national operators.
The visit was part of Angola's participation in the Mobile World Congress - MWC24 held in Shanghai.
According to the MINTTICS statement, the minister visited Huawei's equipment factories, the multinational's Innovation and Technology Exhibition Centers, where all the equipment and services to support ICT in the education, health, finance, mining, interior, agriculture, energy, water, fisheries, transport, public administration and marine resources sectors are on display.
The visit was basically aimed at getting to know Huawei's equipment and device production line, taking into account the projects underway in Angola for digital acceleration, namely the National Broadband Network Project.
Angola’s National Broadband Network Project is expected to improve internet access, voice service, messaging, sending and receiving videos, audiovisual programs, with the lowest latency, the National Cloud project which aims to interconnect all the ministerial departments and services of the public administration and private companies, as well as other interested parties, the statement said.
Mário de Oliveira also witnessed the signing of the Memorandum between Angola Telecom and Huawei, which will allow conditions to be prepared for increasing mobile coverage in the country, through investment in telecommunications infrastructure.
This memorandum will enable operators to extend voice and internet service coverage to users, particularly in locations that are difficult to access, and to achieve the mobile coverage targets set out in the National Development Plan (PDN - 2023/2027). HM/ASS/DAN/AMP
