Luanda -Tokyo city (Japan) is since Saturday hosting the Ministerial Meeting of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-9), under the motto “Co-creating innovative solutions with Africa”, to better face the global challenges affecting the world and the continent, ANGOP has learnt.
According to a statement, this approach is part of the joint cooperation efforts between African countries and Japan in the quest for solutions for global challenges.
The Angolan delegation is led by the Minister of Industry and Trade, Rui Miguêns de Oliveira, and includes the ambassador to Japan, Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho, as well as other senior Angolan state officials.
Within the framework of the ministerial meeting, the approaches are subdivided into plenary sessions, interactive debates and exhibitions that take place on the sidelines of the meeting.
Participants at the meeting are sharing experiences and presenting innovative solutions to the different economic and social challenges of the African continent and the world.
The interactive debate sessions address society issues and the realization of a sustainable future, with a focus on human resources, especially youth as the future leaders of Japan-Africa cooperation.
It includes a panel addressing peace and stability, as a guarantee of human dignity and security, as well as a large panel focused on the economy, on how to promote trade and foster investment with African countries and how to take advantage of the concept of seeking African solutions through the implementation of innovative methods, including digital transformation.
The ministerial meeting takes place every two years, on a rotating basis (between Japan and the African capitals), and serves as a preparation for the next TICAD-9 Summit to be held in 2025 in Yokohama (Japan). SC/TED/AMP
